IRISH COUNTRYSPORTS and COUNTRY LIFE
Ireland's premier quarterly magazine covering hunting, shooting, gundogs and country living is published in February, May, August and November.

FULL CIRCLE AND FORWARD

The title IRISH COUNTRYSPORTS and COUNTRY LIFE may just have been launched in 2002 but behind it lies a long history of success and ahead of it, a bright future as the leading journal for field sports and country living in Ireland.
Although the title is new, the magazine's credentials are already well-established, for IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS AND COUNTRY LIFE is simply the beginning of a new era for Ireland's longest established and continuously published field sports magazine - Irish HUNTING SHOOTING & FISHING .

Irish HUNTING SHOOTING & FISHING magazine was first launched in April 1985 by Albert Titterington, one of Ireland's best-known field sportsmen and founder of what under his direction was Ireland's largest annual country sports event, the Northern Ireland Game Fair , which celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2002. "At the time, I launched the Fair and IHS&F field sports were under considerable threat and concurrently, there were a great many environmental issues that needed to be addressed and brought to public attention."

Many years on, it is not just field sports and the environment that is under threat, but the entire country way of life, Albert Titterington and Emma Cowan ( who took over the magazine in 1998 ) recognised the need to once again provide a new and more potent unified voice for the Irish countryside. "The unique combination of the new high quality Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine, the web portal and an exciting new generation event , The Irish Country Lifestyle Festival will bring country issues right to the forefront in Ireland, combining the strength of a traditional journal to grace any coffee table with the huge potential and wide reach of the Internet and the exciting family orientated spectacle of the Festival"

IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS AND COUNTRY LIFE is the quarterly journal for all things 'country' in Ireland. Designed to complement the web portal, www.countrysportsandcountrylife.com , it provides a high quality 'hard copy' product that frees the reader from the computer screen. As well as covering all aspects of field and country sports in Ireland, the journal also brings readers a wide range of features on country living, visiting the great estates of Ireland, looking at wildlife, homes and gardens, food and drink, and country art and crafts.

The current title, IRISH COUNTRYSPORTS and COUNTRY LIFE, reflects the aim of bringing field sports and country life, which are inextricably linked, together. While the magazine will continue to bring readers comprehensive coverage of all field sports, it will also incorporate a great many other aspects of country life, presenting the public with a comprehensive and balanced view of what is, after all, Ireland's greatest natural resource - its countryside.

In a neat twist that linked the magazine's history to its future, the first cover of Country Sports and Country Life, like the first ever Issue of its forerunner, Irish Hunting Shooting and Fishing, featured a pair of Braddells from the long established Belfast gunmaker, Joseph Braddell.
